Melody’s Echo Chamber – In The Stars

Melody’s Echo Chamber released “In The Stars” today, the second single from Unclouded, her fourth album dropping December 5th through Domino. The album title comes from a Hayao Miyazaki quote about seeing the world without prejudice: “You must see with eyes unclouded by hate. See the good in that which is evil, and the evil in that which is good. Pledge yourself to neither side.”

Swedish musician Sven Wunder co-produced and co-wrote Unclouded with Melody Prochet. The album features Josefin Runsteen on strings, Dina Ögon’s Daniel Ögen on guitar and Love Orsan on bass, Malcolm Catto from The Heliocentrics on drums, and Reine Fiske of Dungen on guitar. Leon Michels worked with Prochet on album closer “Daisy”, which came out earlier this month with El Michels Affair. Jens Jungkurth from El Michels Affair mixed the record.

“In The Stars” balances close harmonies with guitar and string interplay. The track explores the search for home and meaning, with lyrics that convey a sense of emptiness and coldness despite familiar surroundings.

Prochet recorded Unclouded after returning to the Alps of High Provence following her 2022 tour. She describes the album as reflecting a shift from nostalgia to accepting impermanence. Rather than escaping, she’s more interested in being present with nature. She references kintsugi, the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold, as a metaphor for rebuilding herself.

Prochet tours Europe and North America in spring 2026, starting on April 14th in Berlin and concluding on May 23rd in Seattle.
